Dies ist die bekannteste Ansicht mit Blick aus dem Garten auf den Haupteingang des Großen Tropenhauses, das auf der leichten Anhöhe des Fichtenbergs liegt.
Das Gewächshaus ist ein frei tragender Hallenbau aus den Jahren 1906/1907 und war für die damalige Zeit sehr modern. Mit einer Grundfläche von 60 x 30 Metern und einer lichten Höhe von 23 Metern zählt es zu den größten Gewächshäusern der Welt. Als denkmalgeschützter Bau wurde es von 2006-2009 grundlegend saniert, um die historische Bausubstanz zu erhalten und den Energiebedarf um 50% zu senken. Zahlreiche technische Innovationen sorgen dafür, dass es jetzt wieder zu den modernsten und energie-effizientesten Gebäuden seiner Art gehört.

This is the most famous view with a view from the garden of the main entrance to the Great Tropical House, which is located on the slight hill of the Fichtenberg.
The greenhouse is a self-supporting hall building from 1906/1907 and was very modern for the time. With a floor area of 60 x 30 meters and a clear height of 23 meters, it is one of the largest greenhouses in the world. As a listed building, it was fundamentally renovated between 2006 and 2009 in order to preserve the historical structure and reduce energy requirements by 50%. Numerous technical innovations ensure that it is now once again one of the most modern and energy-efficient buildings of its kind.
