Heute - Hamburg (Speicherstadt)

Die Speicherstadt ist das größte Lagerhausensemble der Welt und erstreckt sich auf rund 26 Hektar zwischen Baumwall und Oberhafen. Der Komplex wurde zwischen 1883 und dem Ende der 1920er Jahre auf tausenden Eichenpfählen gebaut und steht seit 1991 unter Denkmalschutz. 
Heute, mit der neugotischen Backsteinarchitektur, gehört die Speicherstadt zur HafenCity.

Today - Hamburg (Speicherstadt)

The Speicherstadt is the largest warehouse ensemble in the world and stretches over some 26 hectares between Baumwall and Oberhafen. The complex was built on thousands of oak piles between 1883 and the end of the 1920s and has been a listed building since 1991. 
Today, with its neo-Gothic brick architecture, the Speicherstadt is part of HafenCity.
