I had a large cloud hanging over me the last two days...

            We have planned to visit Jonathan's friends and relations in Durham and the far north for personal reasons. It has taken some planning but just about had it all sussed when my dog Beau suddenly acted very odd indeed during the night a few nights ago. We came downstairs after hearing bumping and banging sounds. Beau look distressed and was panting and three non slip mats appeared to have been tossed around. He went outside and refused to come back in so we left the back doors open in case he wished to come back in but he didn't. The following morning neither him nor Merry our other dog would eat anything. Neither ate the whole of that day and Beau slept outside that evening too. Last night I thought would be his last and I lay down next to him but he lay very still not in any distress just peering into my eyes. Merry had begun eating again but not Beau.  Jonathan has all his Drs equipment and checked him over re heart beat etc... Now when he lived in Canada there was no vet and he had to operate on a horse and the horse survived but I was still worried about Beau and we agreed we would take him to the vets this morning if he was the same. He dislikes going to the vet and low and behold he looked absolutely fine this morning with his beautiful plume of a tail wagging happily... so the trip is back on :)  
Forgot that most people don’t know and why would you ?  that Jonathan as well as being a Gp in Annfield Plain in County Durham is a fully trained anaesthetist and was on call at a hospital in York for a couple of years as well as being fully trained in Obstetrics so was the equivalent of a midwife in Canada and in his last year there delivered over 100 babies by himself. The hospital served the people who lived near /worked on the oilfields. He never blows his own trumpet so I will blow it for him…..
We intend being away a month unless anything happens to change that so I bid you adieu for now..Sue :)
