'twixt Heaven & Hell ["EXPLORE" 28.11.2021]

            Colour negative of my B&W image "Flight/Flucht", a multiple exposure of a cherub in flight. I moved closer and refocussed on the face for each exposure.

The "bars", behind which we can see a glimmer of Hell-fire, are in fact the golden frame of a painting to which our little cherub points. To the right is a wall of smooth marble turned into a churning mass by the multiple exposure and contrast adjustments.

Of course, pictures like this are open to interpretation and one finds ones own thoughts reflected. Perhaps we are far away from any bars and Hell-fire and our little cherub is serenely plucking away at the strings of a harp. ;-)

A colleague glanced at the picture and asked: "Is it perhaps an embryo?" What a wonderful question! Yes, it can be seen as an embryo... an embryo trying to find its way into this world... and how perfectly that fits with my title... " 'twixt Heaven & Hell" ...

A five times multiple exposure in the PENTAX K-1, with the HD-DA 55-300mm zoom lens.

Processing in the camera ( RAW-converter and Digital Filters) and in SilkyPix Developer Studio Pro 9.
