Kimberley Boab Trees under the Milkyway

            A night I'll never forget spent under the stars in the Western Kimberley, Western Australia.

This is a four shot image of a Boab tree, and the rising Milky Way. 

The Boab trees or Adansonia Gregorii were named after Australian explorer Augustus Gregory and I took the first shot during Nautical Twilight.
As the night progressed I had to have my wits about me this evening as being alone in the bush I heard Dingoes howling in the vicinity and there had been attacks recently but none in this area thankfully! You can see a large eagle's nest in the tree too and there was a chick in the nest calling for its parents, which were Whistling Kites which made for an unforgettable night time experience in the bush. 
I moved my tripod position forward past the trees to track the sky in the clear using my tracker and switched lenses to a 50mm in landscape orientation and took three shots overlapping by 50% to create a stitched vertical panorama. I was amazed at what I was seeing on the back of my camera the skies were aglow with red, I hadn't come across red airglow before.
You can see M8 the Lagoon Nebula rising to the left of the adolescent Boabs left of frame.
I blended the sky and tree images together in Photoshop.
