The Boat Shed - a photo on Flickriver

The Boat Shed

            Dunedin NZ is heaven for landscape photographers. We only spent a few hours there as part of a self-guided shore tour on a cruise holiday, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to capture this derelict old boat shed jetty. 
I'm speculating, but most landscape photographers like to immerse themselves in their setting for a while, check out the composition opportunities, setup carefully for the light, tweak this, adjust that. I'm no different. This, however, was an incredibly rushed photograph. I only had a minute or two before the bus driver was tooting his horn at me to hurry up and get back in the bus. I even forgot to lower my ISO! For the rest of my travel companions, a photograph entails pulling the iPhone out of their pocket and firing off a quick snapshot that they will only ever look at once. I would love to visit this location again one day - on my own - with only my camera, tripod and all the time in the world.
