Panorama of Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina

            The city has a good location in the valley, but during the Bosnian war of the 1990s, Sarajevo was besieged and shelled from the surrounding hills. Snipers were also active in the hills and the largest boulevard in the city was named 'Sniper Alley', because of the many victims that were shot by snipers while traversing the boulevard.
The place where this photo was taken was an artillery position at the time.
