Painted in 7 working sessions: 30 April to 15 May 2024
Pigments (Winsor & Newton Artists' oil colour unless otherwise noted): Yellow ochre, burnt sienna, sap green, viridian, terra rosa, Winsor violet, Permalba white (Weber), warm grey (Rembrandt), unbleasched titanium (Richeson Shiva). Media: Gamsol, linseed oil.
Centurion OP DLX oil primed linen, 40.6 x 30.5 cm (16 x 12 inches)

Process: Painted during Maria Cole's drawing/painting class at the New Mexico Art League studio, with some of the work done outside the sessions. 

After Action Evaluation: Where is the water line? My intent isn't clear to other viewers, including Maria. One viewer, not Maria, felt a light wash over the fish would better establish them as being in, rather than above, the water.
