six months a subway station... - a photo on Flickriver

            a movie set for the past forty plus years.

the toronto transit commission's shuttered lower bay station has been used as a movie set since it was closed in september of 1966. 

the commission calls this platform, bay lower and the general public refers to it as lower bay.

bay lower was used for just six months as an experiment in interlining, combining trains to run on both line 1 (yonge-university) and line 2 (bloor-danforth) due to delays in service  that could affect the entire system and confusion to the ridership.

...and i still enjoy watching johnny mnemonic and john travolta's remake of the taking of pelham 123.
