Time like cherry blossoms 
runs quicksilver
through my fingers 
leaving only memories 
behind

After a winter filled with epic mountain grandeur, I have found myself called to the intimacy of the forest over the last couple of months. Hiking often in the rain, sometimes in fog or snow, and last weekend in a brief pre-Spring burst of brilliant sunshine, it has felt less a grand adventure and more a connection and communion with the deep spirit of Nature. Immersed in endless shades of green and surrounded everywhere by the sound of flowing water, the rhythm of my steps on the trail feels both meditative and restorative, as the forest slowly wraps me in her cloak of calm.
