I decided at 9pm last night that, after the viscerally disappointing weather Friday night, I couldn't not try to see the lights the way I wanted to. I didn't have to go north to see them - I just wanted to.

I threw my stuff in the truck and left by myself. I listened to Pink Floyd the hour drive north. I knew where I was headed even if I didn't know where I was going.

And for a little while, I felt like my own person. Like myself.
