20230717-FS-R4-FNF-SS Gov + Deputy Chief Tour in Beaver RD-43

            The Beaver Ranger District played host to the Utah Shared Stewardship tour. Governor Cox and Forest Service Deputy Chief Chris French were among many of the partners and dignitaries.
 
The day started out with two helicopters flying over three different forests while highlighting areas of Wildfire Crisis landscapes, watersheds, forest treatment areas, and forest products for investment and support. 

Those in the helicopters had a bird’s eye view of Parleys Canyon, Upper Provo River, Dollar Ridge, Monroe Mountain, Beaver Canyon, and a boots-on-the-ground tour of the Beaver Ranger District. 

While on the ground, the tour group visited the Ponderosa Picnic area where subject matter experts detailed Shared Stewardship work that has been done for over ten years. The project is the result of multi-agency cooperative work. This work has become the new model for Shared Stewardship in the country.
