Aoraki through the Window - a photo on Flickriver

            After seeing this view of Aoraki, my goal was to summit the mountain. It wasn't possible for us to climb, so we went by helicopter and had an unforgetable tour, landing on the ice with a view across at Aoraki, landing again on the glacier/firn on the other side, then flying right by the summit and back to th strip having completed a circuit of this outstanding peak.
