Lonesome oak (mono, long exposure) - a photo on Flickriver

Alright, did a whole bunch of monochrome conversion of the color original, the one that stood out, this, makes the fog appear rather bright, relatively speaking, since it's essentially a night shot.
It creates this negative space and complements the tree, which is what this photo is really about. I find the simplicity of the black & white version attractive, but evidence of the weird lighting situation (if one can call it that) and the dark moodiness is a bit lost I feel. This could very well be, like afternoon on a rainy foggy day, ..but it's not. Anyway, can't have everything at once I guess. Cheers..
