            February 2022 - For decades, mining company De Beers extracted billions in diamonds along the Northern Cape Coast leaving a scarred landscape & impoverished local communities. Since abandoning their operations many diamond prospectors or illegal miners, some formally employed by De Beers, have begun dangerous artinisal mining to try to put food on their tables.
