Give Peace a Chance: the mystery play in 2 acts I

Now I’m 1st time in my life uploading the work in progress, unfinished yet photo-project. Partly because of the emergency of the situation, partly because I need your help to finish it (and stay free, ha-ha). But mainly – because it hit me right now and I think that it could be important: what’s going on now is the 1st world anti-war.

I said the main thing, so we could return to this project. When it’s all started on February 24th, I made an open call to my friends – to do something about it. And because they say that I’m not bad as a photographer, and a lot of my friends are the artists of different kinds, I decided to do it on my turf. Irinka, the painter, responded first. Her name, Irina, mean Peace, Ειρήνη. She suggested the idea to capture how she’ll paint the picture with 2 parts – war and peace, and she’ll do it in 2 characters – War and Peace correspondingly. Which we did.

It all turned into the theatrical performance, into the mystery play, even with 2 dances (of War and of Peace), which I hope to show you as well. Irinka was afraid that the War in her performance will be stronger than Peace (to represent evil is often much easier than to represent good, every artist knows that). I had the same fears. But it seems that we did it right (though the project isn’t finished yet as I said: I have a lot of post-processing and then puzzling all together ahead).

So, my friends, now you know the conception and maybe you’ll help me with the name which is always very important thing. The show is about to begin! Act One.

Also I want to speak with people about this nightmare times, to show, to see and to listen. To do something together. I think that what I’m doing now is the “photo-diary from the other side”. It seems that the way from North Venice to North Korea could be very short and fast. Now I have the unique opportunity to show life in the country when its doors are closing, the “Closing Time” (hopefully temporary and with an opening which I’ll be able to see in my times). So I’m very welcome you to stay in touch with me on Insta, which now turned to the main site of the Digital Resistance in Russia in spite of becoming the outlaw social media or maybe partly because of that. As well as on other social resources. Though I’ve abandoned them for now or barely even started, but I’ll be back. Hopefully.
