Mandy, 1980

            (1975-1990)

Mandy joined Muffin in 1975 at the age of 2 months.  She was rescued from some boys who were trying to kill her by dropping bricks on her.  She was just a tiny thing.  At maturity, she only weighed about 10 pounds.  She was part dachsund and part something else that was long legged.  She was exremely quick and could leap up and catch a bird in flight.  Unlike Muffin and later Snooky, Mandy was constantly a threat to run off just because she loved to run.  

Her nickname was Blackie.  She died a year and a half after Muffin.  The two of them were a lot of fun over the years.  They also got along well with Mr. Cooney, the pet coon I had for six months.
