It does not snow much here, and when it does, it does not last long. This year we actually had a white Christmas, a rarity, and the snow stuck around a few days, long enough for me to visit the Bald River Falls. I had hoped for more ice, but I’ll take what I can get. The sun was just starting to come up over the falls and soon it would highlight the water so much that a long exposure would be hard to accomplish. There was little color in the scene, so it was a natural for black and white, which seems to capture the cold.
