Barcelona's Superblock in Calgary Canada - Fused Grid

            Salvador Rueda, the father of the Superblock idea (and a planner with the city) has been developing and promoting the   concept  since the 1980s. The first official report from the City of Barcelona recommending its application emerged around 2005.(See the web site: BNC Ecologia or Salvador Rueda Urbanismo)

At about the same, in Canada, we developed the superblock  concept (named the Fused Grid) for the layout of new communities (See Saddlestone album) The first such community to be built in Calgary, Canada emerged in 2018 just as the implementation of the superblock in Barcelona started taking shape.
