KHW 630 - a photo on Flickriver

KHW 630

            KHW 630 C4019. Leyland PD1A Titan/ECW new to Bristol Tramways at Eastville depot 1/48. The Tilling Group bought 100 Titans with lowbridge bodies & 50 highbridge examples for Bristol Tramways, 25 with ECW bodies & 25 with BBW bodies. Radiators were a mixture of black-painted (like this) & chrome like BVBG's LAE 13. Withdrawn 1962 passing to L.Margo, London, SW16 7/62 to 8/65; Goullee, London, SE4 5/66 to 4/69 and to Denyer, Brentford but not used; derelict by 6/75, still there 10/77. Restored by Dr. Mike Walker using Scottish bus Museum & David Hoare at Chepstow Classics. Seen at BVBG mini-running day 7-4-24. These Titans were to blame for my interest in buses. Occasionally one would turn up on 18 & at 3/4 years old I realised they sounded different with low tickover to KSWs on 18 & Ks on 300.
