Steady over the Points! - a photo on Flickriver

            Making her way very gently over the points is Marton VAMBAC Railcoach Blackpool 11 at Beamish Museum. The points at this location are notoriously unstable so the greatest care is being taken to ensure that this precious vehice does not come to grief at it heads slowly back to the shed for the night.

This 1939-built English Electric VAMBAC tram was withdrawn from service in Blackpool in the early 1960's and underwent a lengthy restoration by it's present owners, the East Anglia Transport Museum, from whom it is here on temporary loan.
