On No Its Muddy - a photo on Flickriver

On No Its Muddy

            This is on the towpath of the Wendover Canal. The rims on this bicycle are Weinmann Concave. They get their name from the concave profile of the rim. This is to give strength, back in the day these rims were popular on tandems. A conseqence of this concave profile is that in the rain when riding through muck the rim traps mud and dirt then drops it when there is enough in the concave section.

On completion of this part of the route I celaned my wheels by givin them in turn a spin and putting them in the canal to wash the muck off.
