Tanks For The Memory - a photo on Flickriver

            It's been many years since regular tank wagon freight trains have passed through my area. Long gone are trains of domestic heating oil to local terminals such as Selsdon and Earlswood. There also used to be regular trains that ran to Salfords with aviation fuel for nearby Gatwick Airport.

In recent months though there have been occasions where planned engineering works have resulted in Grain to Colnbrook aviation fuel trains being diverted, bringing back memories of those times. Good Friday was one such occasion and it was good to capture GB Railfreight's 66 793, in retro two tone grey British Railfreight Construction livery, pass through Purley Oaks on it's way to Colnbrook.
