The secret pond

            Years ago I 'discovered' this pond on Cozumel because of the water lilies.  At the same time I noticed the birds hanging out there, so of course I keep coming back.  If it wasn't for biting insects it would be a really nice place to photograph birds, though most of the pond is pretty much inaccessible if one cannot fly.
This heron was shot at a slightly excessive distance, but I still like the shot because of the background and the look on the bird's face.
