“Heart of the Forest” - Helford, Cornwall

            I took this on Sunday when the wind was barely a whisper and the sky had been overcast all day. The tide was high at the head of this creek and I parked my tripod on the tiniest of bridges to get this shot. The gfx 100s performed admirably but I have noticed how limiting the depth of field can be for landscapes with a longer lens. The medium format sensor is pretty unforgiving when IS is turned off for tripod work and stopping down beyond f/16.0 is never a good idea. That means focus stacking becomes one of the only means of getting everything sharp or as in this case just letting the background drop out of focus. I suspect the wind will soon claim these last golden leaves before I can visit them again, but glad to have got the chance to spend some time with them.
