Fishermans hut - a photo on Flickriver

Fishermans hut

            Went on a road trip today from East coast of Ireland over to one of my favourite places. The forecast was good, bright until around 2 pm and as I drove down the M6 it was beautiful, cold but bright. I left my house at 6am and as the sun rose behind me I had high hopes. Once I left M6 and slowly went through Galway city traffic it was getting more overcast. My hopes for a break in the cloud didnt materalise so after a 295klm drive I tried to make the best of the day. I had a route planned and stuck to it until around 2.30pm I could hardly stand on one hill the wind was so strong. Had one stop on way home and I didnt even bother getting out of car as the rain started. As they say thats how the cookie crumbles. Had a lovely bit of food in Supermacs. 

This little cottage is used by fishermen in Connemara during the fishing season to store nets and equipment to fish for Salmon and trout in the lakes and rivers of this rugged landscape. This one is still in use near Screeb on Lough Ahaila.

I look forward to my next day trip.
