Plowed and Salted (Yeah, Right) , January 1, 2014

            The last time I remember the streets and expressways being this bad was Super Bowl Sunday, 1997, when we had a similar snowstorm and the plow drivers were apparently ignoring their beepers (cell phones were not yet as cheap and abundant as they are now).

Wentworth is a service drive for the Dan Ryan Expressway, and cars come off that exit ramp (in the distance) at expressway speeds. For this stretch to be in this condition on New Year's Day or any other day is inexcusable.

I will remember this next year, Mayor Emanuel. And whoever of your volunteers calls me will get an earful, about this, how you handled the (necessary) school closings, and my water bill having gone up by a third in the last year.
