St Philips Church Ruins, Brunswick, NC

            Built in the 1750s-1760s, at Brunswick, North Carolina, a town established near the mouth of the Cape Fear River. Brunswick was a major port town and was attacked several times and eventually burned by the British in 1776. Nearly all that remained were the walls of this church and a few homes. Eventually everyone left and the town became a ghost town. There are graves of many of the important people of the town and in North Carolina history buried inside and outside the church.

--The ruins played an important role in the "Sleepy Hollow" tv series, season 2 episode 10 "Magnum Opus". Several places were built up and fake, especially a stairs area near the end that can be seen with a tombstone on the wall. 

I would have taken more photos, but there was a construction crew with bulldozers dumping loads of dirt into the interior and it was tough getting shots without them in it.
