Just Passing Through - a photo on Flickriver

            These Cedar Waxwings pass through here every year.  I've seen them on occasion but not until our visit to a nearby arboretum have I ever been able to capture them.

They mostly stayed in the tree tops and off at a distance, so   I wasn't even sure of what they were until one out- of- focus shot revealed that telltale yellow streak at the tail.  

I waited and hoped one would accidentally fly down into a tree more or less within camera range.  And this one did.  I was able to get several shots including this one in a fairly colorful setting!

Not a lifer, but as far as getting a photo of one goes - it's a first!
