The Guardian - a photo on Flickriver

The Guardian

            Mockingbirds, like this one, seem to really enjoy perching high on top of our holly bush.   That super high vantage point gives them a clear view of all the feeders, and of any "trespassers" who looks like they are too close to a favorite feeder.  

With one quick swoop, they'll startle anyone they can before returning to that perch once again.  

Thankfully, with it being so cold these pasts few says, they haven't seemed as bossy as usual, but when it warms back up again, that behavior will probably resurface.
