Passage of time. Happy Bench Monday - a photo on Flickriver

            This bench at Golden Beach, Caloundra looks out over the Pumicestone Passage separating the mainland from Bribie Island in South East Queensland. This thin northern end of the sand island Bribie has been mauled by the bad weather systems of recent years, creating a new breakaway island by opening up a new passage into Moreton Bay and filling up the old one. That's the new opening on the left. In addition, recent wild weather including Cyclone Alfred has helped open up yet another gap which can be seen across from this picnic table which is continuing to widen. Apparently there is some concern for wildlife that may have become isolated on these newly formed islands.
