37 041 March Hundred Road - a photo on Flickriver

            Friday, 14th March 1980 and the usual view of the Old Hundred sidings at March depot in the early evening. A line of Class 37s is headed by 37041 which was based here between March 1974 and May 1981. This was one of the 37s given a classified repair at Crewe in May 1979 and still looks quite smart here. 
On the left 31409 is just visible and this had arrived in February, primarily for crew training at Norwich as air conditioned stock on the Liverpool Street services arrived in May. At this point though it was commonly to be found on the Wisbech trip. 
Now should I have airbrushed out that bird above the loco ? Couldn't bring myself to do it !
