Wax-eye in the pride of Madeira - a photo on Flickriver

            A Zosterops lateralis (Wax-eye, white-eye, silver-eye) feeding on Echium candicans (Pride of Madeira). I have long loved this colour combo - after all it features one of my favourite birds to photograph, as well as my favourite colour - purple. As both my gear and skills have improved in the 2 years since I first observed it, this year I am setting to capturing it with a will, as it conveniently falls in the lull between winter and spring. So hopefully more to follow.
