Purple tulip

            An early purple tulip at Mona Vale, Christchurch, New Zealand.

You may have noticed I developed a bit of a thing for photographing tulips last year, which I plan to continue this year. This tulip (which is some sort of squat/dwarf variety) was only supposed to be warmup/practice, however despite being in a fairly bare/empty garden bed with vast regions of dull brown/grey dirt, I actually got some images I liked.

I removed some dirt spots / blemishes that I thought distracting (at least when viewed at full resolution), but otherwise untouched camera jpeg.
