Aiden's scroll- inked outline - a photo on Flickriver

            I conceived the project of painting a scroll to commemorate the knighthood of Sir Aiden ap Grendal (Borealis, Avacal, An Tir).  I wanted to plan and execute a scroll with acanthus leaf border and learn gilding, and I also wanted to paint a full period style miniature.  Here you see the inked outline, calligraphy, and ochre underpainting where I will apply gold leaf.
