10/365: It's a cat's life - a photo on Flickriver

            2015/365: day 10. This is also for the introduce yourself theme in the 365 challenge.

Animals are a big part of my life, I can't remember a time when I didn't have at least one pet. Having lost Chester, our dear old blind labrador, a couple of weeks ago we now only have our two elderly gents, Podge (pictured) and his brother Max (pic in comments) they are 17 year old brothers who I saw being born, so have known them literally all their lives.

We had health scares with both of them last year. Max has kidney failure but is coping well with his special diet. Podge had a mystery illness that was thought to be lymphoma but after various (very expensive) tests he was given the all clear and now seems to be fine. One of the plus sides to having elderly cats is that the local wildlife is safe!

Podge is laying on his 'blanky', we originally bought this little lap blanket for another elderly cat as she really used to dig her claws in. Podge, being a real lap cat, inherited it and now takes it as an invitation to curl up wherever his blanky is placed. Podge also follows me around like a little dog, he is a beautiful huge, soft (both fur and nature) tabby.
