Stop, Stair, And Hoist - a photo on Flickriver

            The Main Arsenal building of the Springfield Armory was originally used as a warehouse, where armaments were stored on every floor. The building's tower is designed with a shallow  spiral staircase, and has a central hoist system to get things in and out. They have a box that muskets would have been shipped in set up as a demonstration, but they used to haul cannon up and down this shaft.
