Chevrolet 1957 Bel Air Convertible Custom

Shown here is the Custom specified 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible.

The convertible body was offered only on the top specification 'Bel Air' series.

This lego model 1957 Chevrolet has been built for Flickr LUGNuts 57th Build Challenge - 'From Mild to Wild' - the second half of a two month challenge to build a 'plain Jane' model, and then spend the second month customising it.

The modified version were inspired by Fred Ottens' 5-wide Tiny Turbo scale modified 1957 as seen in mocpages:

This is not the first 1957 Chevrolet I have modelled, so the form and function has been developed over time. The model features body-on-frame construction, and lego piston vee-four engine (mimicing the package of the V8), live rear axle suspension, independent front suspension and rear-wheel-drive. The body features opening bonnet (hood), boot (trunk), and two coupe doors.
