Oeuvre des sculpteurs Etex et Deloye et inaugurée en 1891.
Le héro révolutionnaire est tourné et regarde vers le nord-est, c'est à dire en direction de Turin.
Le bas-relief en arrière du monument représente "Nice au milieu des nations" .
Les trois proues (+ une sur la face avant) à la base du piedestal font référence à G. Garibaldi le "Héro des Deux Mondes".

The revolutionnary hero is turned to and facing North-East, i.e. facing Turin.
The bas-relief in the back of the monument shows "Nice among nations".
The three bows (+ one on the front face) at the bottom of the pedestal refer to G. Garibaldi the "Hero of Two Worlds."
