Paul Behrens photo- Chili, WI - a photo on Flickriver

            Paul captured GP15-1 #4403 switching out bad order cars at Chili back in August of 1977.  After the C&NW pulled the through trains for the last time in 1976, the line between Merrillan and Marshfield was reduced to "as needed" service.  The M&T diamond in Marshfield was removed and bad order cars were stored between Chili and Marshfield.  The co-op above (and others like it in Granton and Neilsville) still did business with the railroad, but it wasn't nearly enough to support the line.
