Il Salone della Fontana - The Salon of the Fountain

            Il Salone della Fontana è uno degli ambienti di Villa D’Este a Tivoli (Roma), famosa villa rinascimentale italiana dichiarata Patrimonio dell’umanità dall’Unesco.
Il salone era destinato ai ricchi banchetti organizzati dal Cardinale Ippolito D’Este (il fondatore della Villa) per la sua corte di poeti e letterati. 
Il Salone prende il nome dalla fontana visibile sulla sinistra, terminata nel 1568 e che crea un effetto scenografico di giardino artificiale che richiama il sontuoso giardino esterno.

The Salon of the Fountain is one of the rooms of Villa D'Este in Tivoli (Rome), a famous Italian Renaissance villa declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. The hall was intended for the rich banquets organized by Cardinal Ippolito D'Este (the founder of the Villa) for his court of poets and writers. 
The Salone takes its name from the fountain visible on the left, finished in 1568 and which creates a scenographic effect of an artificial garden that recalls the sumptuous garden outside
