Storm Glow

In the Bentonite Hills area of Capitol Reef National Park, a November storm, complete with thunder and lightening, was fast approaching (too fast)! I was a mile from my jeep and carrying - of course - my "metal" cameras and tripod. But the sun was illuminating the autumnal landscape so vividly against those blackening clouds that I threw caution to the wind, so to speak, and decided to try to capture a few shots. After all, it's pretty rare to be treated to this quality of light and I just had to hang around since I knew those brilliant leaves on the Cottonwood trees would be gone once the wind and rain came, lost for another year
A few hastily composed shots... and then a sprint back to the shelter of car; the lightening missed me, but, alas, the cold rain didn't!
Capitol Reef National Park is high on my list of favorites; I return over and over again.
