Barlow Shed, St Pancras station. - a photo on Flickriver

It's so peaceful up here, in comparison to the madness a level down. Lots of time to admire the Eurostar trains that depart for Europe and the architecture.
There's a lot to take in and here's some fun facts:

The original Dent clock was due to be sold to an American for GBP 250,000. While being removed, it crashed to the ground and the remaining shards were then sold to a train driver for GBP 25. Later, the original clockmaker was commissioned to make a new clock. They tracked down the pieces from the old clock and sourced the slate and various items to rebuild it, closely to the original.

"I want my time with you" is an LED display by Tracey Emin. Her art often goes with a shock factor, so this is quite pleasant to me. The Independent newspaper combined the whole press conference with a candid backlash at the artist. I think the journalist must have been having a bad day. A voraciously cutting and a highly amusing article. My fave paragraph:

She loves Europe. She loves togetherness. “It’s a great, subliminal message sent out to the rest of Europe,” she shouts, buoyed up on the wings of her own rhetoric. She hates that the rich are so rich and getting even richer. She hates that the poor are so poor and getting even poorer. She’d even give away her own helicopter if it didn’t prove so useful in Provence.

Under the clock, on the terrace is a large bronze state called "The Meeting Place" by Paul Day. There is a couple embracing and it is a representation of the romance of travel.
