Wilton's Music Hall, Graces Alley. - a photo on Flickriver

Tucked away down a nondescript alley in East London, is Wilton's Music Hall. It has an unusual story and still stands today, much like has done, for many years. Back in the 1690's, it was a few shops, houses and a pub. John Wilton wanted to bring the excitement and glamour of the West End (of London) and make it affordable in the East End, where money was a little harder to come by. It opened as a Music Hall in 1869 and the history is so varied, it's hard to paraphrase, but you can read about it here:

It's functioning and has a wide variety of entertainment. I'll try and get back here when the doors are open. I'd love to go inside.
