Monument to His Boot - a photo on Flickriver

            Had Benedict Arnold been killed in action at Saratoga, he would have died a hero of the American Revolution. His repeated attacks on the British line forced Borgoyne to call a retreat to avoid disaster, thus carrying the day for the Americans. Arnold's horse was shot from under him and his leg was shattered. He recovered from his injuries, only to commit the greatest act of treason ever.
This is the only monument erected to him. actually to his leg, and his name does not appear anywhere on the battlefield park.
