The Look - a photo on Flickriver

The Look

            Bald eagles have such an amazing look to me.  While we were up on Harbor Mountain taking landscape pictures this eagle landed right next to us in the top of a tree.  It didn't seem to have a care in the world and didn't mind us sharing his space.  I was afraid to take my camera off of the tripod in fear of spooking him away.  He kept his lookout while I took off the camera and I was able to back up by the picnic table where my dad was shooting him.  He stayed in place posing for another couple of minutes and I was able to share this amazing experience.  
The area around Sitka has a lot of bald eagles like this gentleman.  When the tide comes in next to the harbor, the eagles will fly in to fish.  This is a great destination to take in Alaska if you want to shoot these majestic birds.
