2ft gauge 4wDM (MR 7304/1938) MIMP Ballygarvey Bog, Killinagh.

            The temporary loading lines laid out Herring bone style off the mainline across the peat bogs were often laid on plastic web matting to prevent the track sinking but being a giant sponge track geometry was somewhat rudimentary so derailments were quite common. Here 4wDM (MR 7304/1938) is seen on Ballygarvey Bog with a partly derailed train of empty peat cage wagons. The driver is edging the train forward while staff towards the rear try and re-rail several wagons.
