Battery Potter 10-10-10 - a photo on Flickriver

            The lighthouse at Sandy Hook, NJ is surrounded by Fort Hancock.  Now abandoned and crumbling,  the fort was once bristling with gun positions designed to defend the entrance to New York harbor.  

One such emplacement was Battery Potter.  Several stories tall, it was built between 1890 and 1892.  This view is from inside the first floor, looking out an entrance toward the West.
