DSCN7253_Dinosaur bone slab (unpolished, wet)

            Received from some old-school rock-hounds, for a reasonable price (as part of a "give me what you think is fair for $100" assorted box that ended up being worth closer to $500 by today's prices.  This piece was likely collected in the 60s or 70s, and still has very faint markings (probably in scribe or pencil) that reads "Dinny bone Hanksville."

Hanksville, UT is a fairly well-known locale for gembone.

A smallish (3”x2.25”x0.25”; 33g) but gemmy slab like this would still fetch something like $40-$60 these days on Etsy or ebay; maybe half that a show, if the vendor was greedy; in-person rock show… maybe $10-$15 (not that I'm planning to part with it).
