Tramway track at Manchester Road and Aylesbury St for Swindon Corporation, Swindon, Wiltshire - c1925

            I've tried this as one of the experimental scans as it shows a comparative rarity - a Swindon tramcar along with a detail of the tram track. Car 4 is trundling along - open top - with a cyclist to one side. The decorative scrolled overhead brackets also show well and there is both bracket arm and suspension overhead shown. There is remarkable collection of vitreous enamel advertising signs on the gable end of the building! I don't know Swindon well - but after a bit of prompting and some closer looking the street on the left is Aylesbury St. Major C (below) has confirmed it is on Manchester Road.

The tram, approaching a passing loop after a section of single track, wouldn't have long to run as this municipal system was very short lived opening in 1904 and closing in 1929 - a rather typical lifespan for a small Edwardian tram system in the UK.

Other things I've noticed - in the background is an early electric street lamp with a swan neck bracket and what appears to be an early 'triangle' road sign on the tram post. The odd bracket kinked out from the first tram post - it could be a small signal to control the tram loop ahead but I'm not certain.
